Mission

Our mission is to provide an Evansville based, registered USA cycling team that can support, educate and encourage the sport of cycling in junior, adult and master racing categories.

History

The Guitar Lab Cycling Team has long since been the dream of Evansville Bicycle Club member Mike Boren. In 2010, Mike made his dream a reality and formed a six man team that supported the team through sponsorship, purchasing team jerseys and kits and attending races in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.

Team Guitar Lab not only races but is also active in supporting the local cycling community. The team director and racers are in contact with hundreds of local riders each week through both club rides and less formal organized rides. As promoters of the sport, we encourage everyone interested to become a member of the Evansville Bicycle Club, and this is one of the prerequisites for racing on The Guitar Lab Cycling Team. As a registered USA cycling team, we are responsible for hosting an annual training event open to the public. This year we hosted a very successful training ride on September 19th at Burdette Park. There were over 40 riders in attendance to support the team.

Team Guitar Lab has had an exceptional first year. In 2010, the team posted several wins in, three cyclists moved up in category, and there were over thirty top twenty finishes! The 2011 season is sure to be even greater!!

Team Guitar Lab has been featured in Evansville Living Magazine, the channel 14WFIE evening news, The Guitar Lab monthly newsletter, and the Evansville Bicycle Club newsletter. We have also been successful in developing an internet presence through our website teamguitarlab.com, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Myspace.
